Playing with food is not always a bad thing and in this case, it is the perfect way to turn your winter mealtimes into a fun art project {especially when indoor projects to keep your kiddos busy are sorely needed!}.
Ingredients
  • 2 sandwiches of your choice
  • Mustard
  • Ketchup or pomegranate seeds
  • Pretzel sticks
  • Cheese
  • Pear apple
  • Crackers
  • Reindeer cookie cutter
  • Sleigh cookie cutter
  • Mini toy cookie cutters
Instructions
  1. Press the reindeer cookie cutter into one of the sandwiches.
  2. Using a knife trim the edges and peel the sandwich crust away from the cookie cutter. {Save the scraps to eat or try to keep them intact for another edible art scene with the crust frame of the cut-out sandwich shape.}
  3. Repeat the process with the sleigh cookie cutter and the 2nd sandwich.
  4. Pop the sandwiches onto your plate.
  5. Decorate the reindeer wtih a mustard drop eye and a ketchup drop or pomegranate seed nose.
  6. Use pretzel sticks or strands of string cheese for the reins.
  7. Cut mini toys out of cheese or slices of pear apple and arrange them on the plate, spilling out of the sleigh.
