Chocolate Banana Cookies

- 2¼ cups flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- ¼ tsp salt
- ⅔ cup shortening
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 ounces of chocolate chips, melted
- 1 cup mashed banana (roughly 2 ripe bananas)
- Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave, stirring every 30 seconds.
- Cream the sugar and the shortening.
- Mix in the rest of the ingredients, including the melted chocolate.
- Drop the cookie dough by tablespoonful on a greased baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes at 325 degrees.
- Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5-10 minutes.
- Transfer them to a cookie rack and let them cool completely.
- As they cool, they will deflate but will remain very soft and moist.
