Double Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

Oatmeal helps keep these double chocolate-y cookies soft and tender.
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup sugar
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1¼ cup flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups oats
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  1. Cream the butter and the sugars.
  2. Mix in the vanilla and the eggs.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
  4. Add them to the butter mixture.
  5. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips.
  6. Drop the cookie dough by tablespoonful onto a greased baking sheet.
  7. Bake the cookies at 350 degrees for 8 minutes or until they are done.
  8. For soft and chewy cookies, be careful not to overbake them.
  9. The centers of the cookies should still be moist when you remove them from the oven and they will set up as they cool.
