Baked Chicken Tenders

Make this healthier baked version of fried chicken tenders without sacrificing any of the flavor. Mix up the seasonings in the dry dredge mixture to your liking. Experiment with different dipping sauces to make it interesting. For a fun and creative dinner, have a dipping sauce competition where every member of the family makes a dipping sauce. This healthier baked version of fried chicken tenders doesn't sacrifice any of the flavor and satisfies my family's craving for chicken strips.
Ingredients
- 4 chicken breasts, cut into strips
- 1 egg, beaten
- ¼ cup milk
- Couple drops of Tabasco or other hot sauce, optional
- Dash of salt and pepper
- ¼ cup dry bread crumbs
- ¼ cup flour
- ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese and/or Parmesan powder sprinkle
- ½ tsp basil
- ½ tsp oregano
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- ⅛ tsp pepper
- Dash of jalapeño powder, cayenne pepper or crushed red pepper flakes
- ¼ tsp paprika
Instructions
- Mix the egg, milk, hot sauce and salt + pepper in a shallow bowl.
- In another shallow bowl mix the breadcrumbs, flour, Parmesan cheese and spices.
- Dip the chicken strips in the wet mixture.
- Then, dredge the chicken strips in the dry spice mixture.
- Place the chicken strips on a cooking sheet coated with cooking spray.
- Bake them at 400 degrees for 8-10 minutes on each side, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through.
