I had leftover pink buttercream frosting after making my Valentine Heart Sugar Cookies so I sandwiched the frosting between graham crackers and dipped the edges in Valentine’s sprinkles. Because buttercream frosting is just too good to throw out! These sandwiches are a quick and easy dessert that turns your leftover frosting into a new treat.

LOVE THESE! My mom made these all the time when I was a child, and I haven’t thought about them in years. She’d keep them in the fridge, and I almost always preferred these to whatever the frosting was actually for. Thanks so much for sharing. And, you are right, buttercream frosting is too good to throw out. No crimes against frosting!
Hey, how did you know I have a small bowl of leftover chocolate buttercream in the fridge?! You know what – I’ve got some square-shaped chocolate cookies and I’ll make sandwiches with them! Thank you a lot for the brilliant idea!
These are the best!! Try them in the freezer for a different spin! … I might just have to have left over frosting later… thanks for reminding me.
The recipe looks great. We’d love for you to share your recipe at dishfolio.com!
Beautiful photo. And this is a great, fun recipe to do with the kids. thanks!
Freezing them is a great idea! They look great.
We always do this with leftover frosting! It’s almost better than whatever cookies or cake the frosting was originally intended for. I like how you added the sprinkles! Makes them extra special.
This changes Everything!
When can I expect my delivery 😛
Keep up the good work
Oh, how cute! My mom used to treat us to these when she had leftover frosting too! Love the V-Day look though 😉
These looks great! They would be a great treat for my classroom’s valentine’s day party!
We take graham crackers and frosting camping with us. The kids love to make their own little treats and everyone loves them!! (we leave the sprinkles at home, but that’s a really cute idea)
How adorable, I love the simplicity of these. What a fun project this would be with my little guy! Congrats on the Top 9!
This is exactly what my mom used to do when I was a kid and she had leftover buttercream frosting!!
What a fun, easy project to create with my grandkids:-) Can not wait to try this!
mmm…good use of the buttercream!
These looks so good I always feel so guilty throwing out any left over butter cream icing, yey …now I dont have to :)!!
@All, thank you so much for your nice comments!! Like many of you have said, this is a such great, easy project to do with kids. @Kristi, I love your idea of taking them on the road for a project while camping! @Jamie, I will definitely try freezing them next time.
