It’s easy to transform cake pops into the iconic Mickey Mouse head using Necco wafers. Decorated with rainbow sprinkles these cake pops were the perfect addition to the dessert spread at my son’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse birthday party.

Mickey Mouse and his Clubhouse gang were the centerpiece of the dessert table at my son’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse 3rd birthday party. Instead of trying to exactly duplicate the Clubhouse characters with detailed fondant and icing techniques I wanted to highlight certain iconic features of each personality to make simple yet recognizable characters.

Lunches around here have been pretty fun lately because my son and I have been using our Christmas and winter cookie cutters to make edible art scenes. This is one instance where I think playing with food is perfectly acceptable! It is especially perfect for a cold winter day when you need an indoor project.

It’s hard to believe that my little Cooper is 3! Three years have sure flown by. To celebrate his birthday we chose the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme because many cartoons come and go but Mickey has been a constant in our household.

The trick to these treats is using a mini doughnut stacked on top of each cupcake to complete the pumpkin shape. Use candies or icing to turn some of them into jack-o-lanterns.
