Gyoza Sliders

This time around, I skipped the step of making gyoza altogether and simply made the meat filling, forming it into mini patties for gyoza sliders. When dressed with sauteed mushrooms and red onions, wasabi, pickled ginger and gyoza dipping sauce, these fusion burgers are a unique twist on the classic American burger and they make a tasty appetizer or main course.

Gyro is a sandwich consisting of meat roasted on a vertical spit which is then shaved off in thin slices and wrapped in pita bread, topped with tomatoes, onions, and tzatziki sauce. My gyro-inspired wraps are technically not gyros because the meat is not cooked in the traditional way. However, in my opinion, they taste pretty darn close to an actual gyro. And they are healthier to boot!

Turkey burgers have become a favorite in our household. When we recently made them we decided to make sliders. Sliders are the perfect size for kids and they allow the adults to make multiple burgers with a variety of toppings and condiments.
