This train cake from my son’s Train 1st Birthday Party earlier this year can easily be decorated to match any color scheme. And the durable graham cracker cars can even hold other goodies to make a colorful and eye-catching dessert centerpiece.
Back to school has kicked into full gear and we are saying our goodbyes to summer but I still find myself thinking back to one of my all-time summer favorites: s’mores. In this rendition of the nostalgic treat, rich {milk chocolate} fudge is dipped in marshmallow creme and then rolled in crushed graham crackers.
My sister surprised me with this Kit Kat cake on my birthday this past week. I have seen versions of it filled with M&M’s and other candies but I have to say that I love how it looks overflowing with berries. I wish we had pictures of all of the kids sneaking away with the Kit Kat bars and their little hands grabbing all of the berries.
Chocolate and zucchini seems like an unlikely combo but it actually works. It’s a sneaky way to add some nutrients to your chocolate muffins and it’s a decadent way to serve zucchini to your family.
If you’re searching for a quick yet festive dessert for a {belated} Father’s Day, the College World Series, a baseball team party or any other baseball-themed party, look no further. These Baseball Brownies à la Mode are perfect for any baseball fan and the combo of chocolate cake or brownies, vanilla ice cream and raspberry jam is a homerun.
This dessert is simply my favorite Hawaiian breakfast in pound cake form. By substituting low-fat Greek yogurt and cottage cheese, I can have my tropical cake and eat it, too!
Bite-sized carrot cake squares covered in white chocolate? Yes, please! Naturally-dyed cream cheese frosting carrots add the finishing touch. Happy Easter!
Maybe it’s the thought of Easter bunnies munching on carrots but carrot cake makes me think of spring and Easter. In reality, the warm, spicy flavors of ginger and cinnamon make this an equally satisfying treat during the fall and winter or any other time of year.
I had some leftover cake so I decided to make basketball cake pops for the Men’s NCAA championship game tonight. They are easy to make and would be great for any basketball game, sports party or treats for a basketball team.
Itsy Bitsy Foodies turned two and we celebrated with these almond poppy seed cupcakes, inspired by the Swedish princess torte. My take on the cake incorporates the rich almond flavor into the cake and the frosting, combining almond poppy seed cake, almond buttercream frosting, raspberry filling, chocolate ganache and marzipan.
