Fruit Smoothie
Print This Recipe
Mix and match yogurt, fresh and frozen fruits and fruit juices to make a quick and nutritious breakfast or snack. Smoothies are refreshing and full of vitamins and other healthy ingredients and when made at home you can control the amount of sugar in them. I usually use frozen berries for a thicker smoothie. You can also blend in ice chunks but the resulting smoothie will be icier in consistency. Each morning our smoothie turns out a little different depending on what ingredients we have. I never measure the ingredients but usually use roughly 1 cup of frozen fruit, one yogurt and juice to taste. Blueberry smoothies, a variation on this theme, are another one of our favorites.
- 4 ounces blueberry yogurt (or any other flavor)
- ½ cup frozen blueberries
- 2-3 frozen strawberries
- 2-3 pieces of frozen mango or pineapple
- 1 banana
- ¼ - ½ cup orange juice or any other fruit juice
- Blend all of the ingredients until smooth.
- Add more liquid for a runnier drink or more frozen fruit/ice for a thicker smoothie.
