Both of my boys love trains so it was the perfect theme for my younger son’s 1st birthday party. In the months leading up to the party I had train brain. One morning I was playing around with my son’s toast and the next thing I knew it had transformed itself into a train.
Spread the train toast with your choice of jams, nut butters, Nutella, etc. Make the train as long as you’d like and fill the train cars with different fruits and other toppings.
- Whole wheat bread
- Peanut or almond butter
- Raspberry jam
- Bananas, sliced
- Blueberries
- Raspberries
- Cut out the train and the train cars from whole wheat bread {lightly toasted or not}.
- Spread the train with the topping of your choice {jam, nut butters, Nutella}.
- Add blueberry wheels and a raspberry smoke stack.
- Fill the train cars with sliced bananas, blueberries, Cheerios, pretzel sticks, etc.
- If you cut the bread crust off of the train, use it to make a train track.
- Otherwise, you can use pretzel sticks for the track.
{For the Train 1st Birthday Party, I incorporated this train toast into the party favors, giving jars of homemade raspberry and strawberry freezer jams.}
