This rendition of homemade lemonade is tart but you can add more sugar to taste. The splash of blueberry purée is a perfect balance to the tartness of the lemon.

This rendition of homemade lemonade is tart but you can add more sugar to taste. The splash of strawberry-raspberry purée adds a summery sweetness which is a perfect balance to the tartness of the lemon.

Making your own lemonade is easy and allows you to control how much sugar is in it. You can make a large batch and store it in the refrigerator or make it to order by the glass. This rendition of lemonade is tart but you can add more sugar to taste.

This recipe comes from my Great Aunt Gladys, and my mom has been making it since before I was born. I love the fact that it is filled with fresh, uncooked strawberries. My aunt traditionally made it with an easy coconut pie crust but I like to use my Coconut Macaroon Tartlet Shells for a chewier (and butter-less) crust.

These cookies have the sweet, buttery taste for which sugar cookies are known and loved. They puff up while baking so it is best to use cookie cutters in simple shapes. Decorate your cookies with frosting and/or sprinkles.

These sugar cookies have more of a buttery shortbread flavor and texture than traditional sugar cookies. They are easy to make and hold their shape well when baking. Because these cookies don't puff up much while baking, I recommend them if you are using an intricate cookie cutter.

My sister-in-law came up with this idea when she was experimenting with some leftover Easy Pizza Crust dough. It reminds me of the dessert pizza we would order at pizza parlors when I was little but it's better because you can control how much sugar and butter you add.

Arroz con Leche, literally "rice with milk," is a traditional Spanish dessert that is also popular all throughout Latin America. Variations of rice pudding can be found around the world and this is the Spanish take on it. I love the simplicity of this recipe - rice, milk, a cinnamon stick and sugar. It is easy to make as long as you have forty minutes to an hour to watch it and stir it frequently.

In my mind, homemade berry jam is in another league than store-bought variations. And I love how fresh the freezer versions taste compared to the cooked and canned jellies. Each bite transports me to the berry patch as I taste the freshly-picked berries and remember all of the fun berry-picking excursions with my grandma and mom when I was little.
