With summer berry season in full swing and a bucket of berries that my boys and I had picked, I decided to {recreate} a memory I have with my Grandma. I love any type of vanilla ice cream, however, whenever I see little black flecks of vanilla goodness I know that I'm in for a special treat.
Happy National Ice Cream Day! We like to celebrate ice cream all year long but being that July is National Ice Cream Month and today is the actual ice cream day, I wanted to share with you something special: Homemade Neapolitan Ice Cream Sandwiches.
S'mores and ice cream, two of my favorite things. The s'mores ice cream sandwiches that I made last summer for National Ice Cream Day were such a hit that I decided to make s'mores ice cream this year to celebrate the yummy summer holiday.
An icy popsicle coats a creamy ice cream center to create a refreshing and nostalgic frozen treat. I had a berry puree of raspberries, strawberries and POG (Passion-Orange-Guava juice) from some other Popsicles I made and some homemade French vanilla ice cream. It turns out that this is a divine combo.
Homemade French vanilla ice cream, a raspberry-strawberry puree and whole blueberries unite to make a patriotic Popsicle, perfect for your 4th of July celebrations. The Rocket pops of my childhood were the inspiration behind these red, white and blue treats but my take on them is a little bit more wholesome with the addition of homemade ice cream and blueberries, raspberries and strawberries instead of sugary colored juices .
When Simply Orange Juice recently contacted me with the offer to send me product coupons for free samples, I first made an Orange Julius. My thoughts then turned to orange creamsicles and the idea of turning this orange-coated vanilla popsicle into a layered ice cream dessert.
Ice cream is a refreshing combo with the zing of the ginger in the cookies. Use the ice cream of your choice.
I love this pie during summer and I love this pie during winter (when I'm dreaming of summer). The "little wild blackberries" are the perfect combination of tart and sweet. If you don't have wild Pacific blackberries you can use the berry of your choice.
Your kids can help make these pocket pies which are like a cross between a piece of pie and a fruit-filled pastry. Let them choose their favorite fruit filling and let them cut them in the shape of their choice.
To celebrate National Ice Cream Day, I made ice cream sandwiches based on summer's classic campfire treat. They are quick, effortless and a refreshing way to enjoy your s'mores.
