These gingersnaps are great served alone or with vanilla ice cream. They also make incredible ice cream sandwiches.

Blueberry Sorbet

This refreshing sorbet highlights blueberries so it was a natural choice for one of the sweets on my Tapas For a Cure menu. You can add the simple sugar syrup to taste, making the blueberry purée mixture as sweet or tart as you would like.

Cream Puffs

This cream puff recipe is simple to make. And as an aside, the vanilla pudding cream filling is incredible and is the perfect complement to fresh fruit or chocolate cupcakes.

Wild Blackberry Pie

I love this pie during summer and I love this pie during winter (when I’m dreaming of summer). The “little wild blackberries” are the perfect combination of tart and sweet. If you don’t have wild Pacific blackberries you can use the berry of your choice.

French Vanilla Ice Cream

There is something about homemade ice cream which is simply the best. Fortunately, making ice cream is so easy these days. You can stir the ice cream to reach your desired consistency. A word of warning, though: if you take a bite while it’s at milkshake or soft-serve consistency, you may never finish stirring it. It’s that good.

Chocolate & Banana “Ice Cream”

Now that I’m hooked on banana “ice cream” (an easy, creamy frozen dessert simply made of bananas) I decided to try adding chocolate, which is never a bad decision, in my opinion.

Banana “Ice Cream”

Could it be that bananas are the only ingredient in this frozen treat and yet it has the creamy texture of traditional ice cream? Unbelievably, yes! It is so easy to make (you don’t even need an ice cream maker). And I love the fact that when my son now screams for ice cream, I can give him this — an elegant form of frozen bananas.

Homemade Ice Cream Cones

I used a recipe for vanilla tuiles from The Bon Appétit Cookbook to make homemade ice cream cones. Though they are delicate cookies, they have a rich buttery, vanilla flavor and they complement any flavor of ice cream.

Lemon Bars

The sweetness of the powdered sugar goes perfectly with the tartness of the lemon in these buttery lemon bars. I like to cut them into small squares because though the burst of lemon is refreshing, the bars are very rich.
