Angel food cake is light and airy and will melt in your mouth, especially when served with fluffy whipped cream frosting. Its sweet, rich almond flavor goes well with fruits and berries and paired with its overall light texture makes it the perfect cake for summer.
These rainbow fruit skewers are so easy to make and are a healthy, refreshing and eye-catching snack. Serve them with yogurt, homemade whipped cream or melted chocolate. Use the fruits of your choice.
I love raspberries plain and simple, by the handful, on top of my yogurt, sprinkled on my pancakes, dipped in chocolate…you get the picture! And raspberries are also one of my favorite fruits to bake with. I had leftover dough after making hot cross buns so with a portion of the dough I made […]
S’mores and ice cream, two of my favorite things. The s’mores ice cream sandwiches that I made last summer for National Ice Cream Day were such a hit that I decided to make s’mores ice cream this year to celebrate the yummy summer holiday.
Rice Krispie Treats are great for summer parties, barbeques and potlucks because they are quick, easy and always a crowd-pleaser. For the 4th of July I added red and blue M&M’s for a fun red, white and blue treat. I cut them into stars and flags to fit the theme.
Parfait, French for “perfect,” is traditionally a French dessert. In the spirit of the 4th of July I layered strawberry, vanilla and blueberry yogurts with homemade granola to create a festive red, white and blue breakfast.
Homemade French vanilla ice cream, a raspberry-strawberry puree and whole blueberries unite to make a patriotic Popsicle, perfect for your 4th of July celebrations. The Rocket pops of my childhood were the inspiration behind these red, white and blue treats but my take on them is a little bit more wholesome with the addition of homemade ice cream and blueberries, raspberries and strawberries instead of sugary colored juices .
When I make scones I like to make an assortment. One quick and easy variation is to knead brown sugar and cinnamon into some of the scone dough. The resulting scones are reminiscent of cinnamon rolls and can be enjoyed plain or with jam.
Being from the Pacific Northwest, I am a novice at Barbecue. To be exact, I have hosted and been to countless BBQs and my family would grill just about anything on the BBQ. But as for Barbecue as it is known in the American South {and other parts of the world} I have been completely in the dark.
These yogurt pops are essentially a frozen version of our breakfast smoothies. I used a combination of frozen blueberries and blackberries. You can mix and match the fruit, yogurt and fruit juice of your choice.
