Monkey Bread
This gooey cinnamon pull-apart bread is like a whole pan of the insides of cinnamon rolls. It’s yummy, easy and sure to be a favorite of kids and adults alike.

For my son’s 2nd birthday I made a tower of Sesame Street cupcakes topped with an Elmo cake. Decorated with frosting in bright primary colors the characters were easily identifiable and the kids loved being able to pick out their favorite character.

I recently had the opportunity to create a cupcake display for the 20th Annual Festival of Trees gala event in Port Angeles, Washington, a fundraiser benefiting Olympic Medical Center. The theme of the event was Let it Snow! Decorating over 400 cupcakes (both minis and regular-sized cupcakes) to match the theme was the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.

Kids will love making this cake. It is quick, easy and results in a moist chocolate cake. I like to ice the cake with vanilla buttercream frosting but you can decorate your cake as desired.

It has been salmon season in the Pacific Northwest. With my husband’s last catch we smoked some of the salmon fillets in a wood chip smoker. Serve the smoked salmon with crackers and cheese for a healthy snack and an easy ‘gourmet’ hors d’oeuvre.
