Snickerdoodle Cookies

Cinnamon and sugar is a simple yet soothing combination. I’ve always had a weakness for cinnamon and sugar so naturally these soft, chewy, and melt-in-your-mouth cookies are one of my favorites.

Beef Flautas

Flautas (Spanish for flutes) are a similar concept as taquitos but are typically a little larger and made with flour tortillas. As I did with my taquitos, I baked my flautas for a healthier version, filling homemade flour tortillas with a simple taco beef filling and cheese.

Foodbuzz 24×24: Tapas For a Cure

September is Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month so for this month’s 24×24 event, Foodbuzz partnered with Electrolux to help raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. In addition to sending money to the 24 selected Featured Publishers to host an event, they matched our event stipend to make a donation of $250 in each of our names to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (that’s a $6,000 donation!). My event, themed Tapas For a Cure, highlighted super foods and cancer-fighting ingredients in a variety of savory and sweet tapas.

Blueberry Sorbet

This refreshing sorbet highlights blueberries so it was a natural choice for one of the sweets on my Tapas For a Cure menu. You can add the simple sugar syrup to taste, making the blueberry purée mixture as sweet or tart as you would like.
